The MP expense scandal never interested me as much as it maybe should… I think this is because long before the story broke I was already under the belief that all politicians are crooked, lying scumbags whose entire existence is predicated on wholesale theft of working people, and so the scandal was only confirming what I already thought.

That said, can anybody, anywhere, defend our political system when it is revealed (by an enquiry run by their own organisation no less!) that OVER HALF of our “elected representatives” have been shown to be REPEATEDLY STEALING! Like not in a philosophical–’All taxation is theft’–kind of a way, but actual real stealing; the kind that gets regular, non-politician, people put in jail if they try it on their tax returns!
