Don’t vote
N.B. I am not Davy
Instead of voting in the election today, take the time to watch this talk instead:
Christian Michel – Why I am not a democrat (I prefer freedom)
Christian Michel – Q&A on democracy
Hat tip to the Oxford Libertarian Society.

Not vote ey? Then don’t you dare comment on politics. You ought to know boy, that if you don’t participate in their system, you have no right to comment on their actions.
Wow, I probably used to sound like that
I’ve decided to really let it go this year, not only will I not vote, I don’t even feel interested in finding out who won, going to do something more productive with my evening than sitting around wasting my life waiting for information on their world.

@ Agalloch
I’ve already received that particular argument today
Good for you on doing something more productive with your time. I think I will be watching the results today, but I do wish that I cared less about it. And that’s not sarcasm. Haha.

I’m surrounded by polling stations here. Three doors down is a church, across the road and three doors up is a library (both polling stations), and my Uni campus is a station too. I’m going crazy.
Perhaps I should go and hand out copies of my “memo to voters”…

Yeah, dude I was thinking of doing something like that, go standing by the polling stations just handing out literature explaining why voting is a waste of time, with links to libertarian websites. Only my extreme laziness has prevented me so far. Although I have the excuse that I’m not right next to any polling stations I suppose.

Well, my politically unaware housemate Rich has just voted. I went with him, for shits and giggles.
Upon being given the ballots (local and general), he votes, puts them in the box.
Outside, I ask “Who’d you go with?” The reply:
“I dunno. I don’t know who they are, I chose one at random”
“Well, what about the locals?”
“I forgot which was which, I didn’t listen to what the guy said.
Democracy is grand, isn’t it?

Randamocracy is it, I likey. I think there is a rule about giving out literature within a certain distance of a polling station, so we need to hijack some common routes towards polling stations for teaching. Civil Libertarian, you should put up a banner, free food and drinks, trap those voters in your Libertarian lair.
