Edgar the Exploiter
Great follow up to the brilliant George Ought To Help video. Extremely well made piece of animation and a great choice for pointing people towards if they’re arguing for the minimum wage:

| Anybody who plays poker knows just how dangerous potential government regulations really are. Rather than "protecting the consumer" they have actually made it extremely difficult for people in America to play online at all, and recent changes to French law have all but destroyed the ability for people in that country to make a living playing. Anyway if you play the Pot Limit Omaha variant then I'm working on a site dedicated to Pot Limit Omaha Strategy so do take a look and spread the word. |

Should also point out that the UK labour party was against the minimum wage in the 1970s for all the reasons outlined – less jobs for the people who need them most. The argument that every job in the economy must pay a living wage is bogus – just look at all the zero pounds an hour interns that companies now employ (many more than before the introduction of the minimum wage in 1999).
Being anti-minimum wage is not some weird libertarian only position.
The only reason Labour changed their position was to buy a few votes !
Why not a centrally planned minimum wage for the whole world ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X25U_7mx9jU

I donated to this. It was nice to see the result. I have my name at the end.

Great video,
I think it’s also worth noting that many large businesses have actually lobbied for the introduction of minimum wage laws. Not out of some altruistic desire to help people, but because they know that it’s easier for them to shoulder any increase in wages than many of their smaller, less established competitors who operate at much tighter profit margins.
Minimum wages supporters will always talk about how it will force companies to pay workers ‘a decent wage’… etc, but all it ends up doing is increasing the power of big corporations and causing more unseen poverty and unemployment elsewhere.

Thanks for reposting Edgar! I’m currently running a crowd-funding campaign to finance the creation of a third animation in the series: Give Me Your Ball. If you have the time and inclination you can take a look at the campaign page here: http://www.indiegogo.com/Albin-and-the-bully
