FAQ
Here’s a page to address frequently asked questions. This will be expanded upon as time goes by:
What is libertarianism?
This is an excellent short video that explains the basic philosophy:
Are there any examples in history of successful stateless societies?
Actually Yes! But you won’t hear about them in government schools. Follow this link for a selection of easy to watch videos that will teach you the basics about stateless Ireland, Iceland and the American West as well as a video that demystifies the mainstream propaganda about Somalia today.
Why is it important to understand the root of money to understand libertarianism?
The reason is that many people have ideas floating around in their heads about money that are counter to reality and can cause arguments to become muddled. Ideas like “money is the root of all evil.”, “money corrupts everything” or “nurses should be paid 4x as much as a footballer because they do a much more important job” etc. etc.

You say to abolish [random government program] but I know somebody who works in [random government program] and they do a really good job. Once he/she [insert random anecdote where individual does something worthwhile] therefore you are wrong that [random government program] needs to be abolished:
This is the fallacy of thinking that because an INDIVIDUAL working in a bureaucracy is a good person, the bureaucracy is therefore redeemable. I could write a book on why this is faulty logic, but for now I’ll try to make it quick and clear. In Nazi Germany there were many individuals working inside the regime who tried to foil Hitler (see the movie Valkyrie)… therefore we need to keep the Nazi Government because although it has flaws, many people inside it are just trying to do their job the best they can! Or maybe you’re against the Iraq war and I can put it another way for you: Many INDIVIDUALS fighting that war are good people, with families back home, just trying to do what’s right. Therefore the military should continue to be funded by your tax money (stolen by force) regardless of whether you have a fundamental moral problem with what they’re doing with that money.
This is one of the most basic fallacies I hear and it’s usually one of the first things somebody says before they’ve got a bit deeper and realised that yes, we have actually thought about these things, and we’re not just heartless bastards who want a cold dog-eat-dog world where the poor are eaten by cannibals and the rich sell us all into slavery blah blah blah.
